While the Hoot Owls were officially on summer vacation and, thus, off the air, the Degree Team hastened to the studio for an impromptu memorial broadcast. Abe Bercovitz, a cast member who performed in the KGW Orchestra, played the Jewish Moruner's Kaddish and the entire degree team broke down on the air.
