Technology seems to have the ability to fire our imagination to the degree that a development can "brand" an age.  Mid-19th century America became the Atomic Age.  Many refer to society at present as living in the Digital Age.

Radio took the nation and the world by storm in the 1920s.  And, since the term "radio" wasn't something that itself could be copyrighted or trademarked, a wide range of companies used the word to signify that their products were modern, contemporary, cutting edge or just plain exciting.
