The "KOIN KLOCK" program was the station's "get 'um up in the morning" long-lived program dating back to the late 1920s.  Some staff remained with the program literally for decades.

Both the larger photo and the top postcard are circa 1940.  The lower postcard is from 1967.  The KOIN studio musician staff endured until 1972 at which point KOIN was the second last radio station in the nation with a staff orchestra.
In 1942 KOIN held a Million Dollar Bond rally to help support the nation's war effort. (Left) the KOIN orchestra and staff assembled for the bond rally.  (Right) KOIN staff, including  Red Dunning, in costume for Million Dollar Bond rally.
KOIN KLOCKER membership card issued to Hallie Cobb, date unknown.
KOIN boasted the largest musical staff of any Portland radio station and among the largest local staff of musicians of any station in the U.S.  The musicians appeared in a variety of settings, ensembles, etc. often under the name of the sponsor.  Hop Gold is a long-established Portland brewery and the orchestra here appears as the Hop Gold Orchestra. 1930s
