The Western States Museum of Broadcasting (WSMB) was born out of an initial plan to establish a bricks and mortar museum devoted to radio and television broadcasting history. As part of that effort a sizeable collection of artifacts was assembled, much of which I donated, and significant archival materials were acquired for what was contemplated as that facility's research library. When the effort to construct a formal museum was abandoned, I purchased back a portion of the artifacts that I had donated. Those items -- along with images of things not now in my own collection -- may now be seen in this site's Gallery.
Research archival materials which I retained or scanned before donating the originals, are being assembled in this site's Library -- a work which is in progress. As our name suggests, we will tend to emphasize stations and programs west of the Mississippi both in the Library and Exhibit Hall (although we'll certainly not exclude eastern topics).Lastly, a series of special topic exhibits may be seen in the Exhibit Hall. More are planned. Stay tuned.
