Since KGW was the first station in Portland to have recording capability and that didn't occur until 1937, there are no recordings of an original Hoot Owls program.  However, several Hoot Owls Degree Team members did make recordings which illustrate the style of at least some of the program's elements.  Businessman Alan "Punch" Green, Sr. -- Grand Songsmith on the program -- was never really successful as an entertainer (although he had aspirations).  He recorded two songs which were released on a Columbia recording in 1927.
