Time began to take its toll on the entirely volunteer effort.  Tige Reynolds had been with the program from its inception and his 1931 death was a serious blow.  His fanciful drawings and cartoons had given the program an unique life in printed literature.

Bishop Sumner had, also been with the program since 1923 but had to curtail his participation in 1931.
